    Alaska Backcountry Safari (5 days)
Following is a sample itinerary for our 5 day Alaska Backcountry Safari.

    [General Info -- Multi-Day Excursions]

Snowmobile Tours Day One (Up to 100 miles with lunch, dinner.)

8:00am: Our driver and van will meet your group at the main entrance of your Hotel to transport you north to Willow, Alaska. We will have coffee available on the van and will make restroom stops as needed. The drive up to Willow is very scenic. The road winds up through the Matanuska Valley and continues up north past the town of Wasilla. Our driver will narrate and will cover points of interest along the way.

10:30am: Arrive at Willow and suit up for your first day's snowmobile ride. All extra bags of clothing and gear will be loaded onto the rear of your sled. You will depart the Willow trailhead and head down the trail which takes you along the banks of the mighty Susitna River. This huge frozen river serves as a major travel corridor for access to the remote lodges and riding areas. We'll travel along the Susitna River for about 25 miles until we meet up with the frozen confluence of the Yentna River. We'll stop here for a snack and enjoy the spectacular scenery before heading up the Yentna River. Our route will follow the Yentna River as it winds back further into the wilderness for another 35 miles until arriving at the Northwoods Lodge. Depending on the kind of speed the group makes, there should be some good opportunities for playing around on the snowmobiles utilizing many of the huge open meadows and frozen swamps along the way.

1:30pm: Lunch at the Northwoods Lodge, a large remote Alaskan Lodge tastefully furnished to impart a comfortable, rustic feeling.

3:00pm: Depart the Northwoods Lodge and continue up the frozen river system another 30 miles to the beautiful and scenic Tal Vista Lodge. Enroute to the Tal Vista Lodge, we will pass through town of Skwentna. This small community will give you glimpse of what Alaska bush living is like, with the only supplies brought in via snowmobile or ski-plane.

5:00pm Check into the Tal Vista Lodge. This fine facility is set in the midst of Alaska's true backcountry, yet offers modern amenities such as hot showers, warm heated rooms, and outstanding meal service.

Day Two (Up to 75 miles with breakfast, lunch, dinner.)

8:00am: A hearty breakfast is served while your guides re-fuel and check out your snowmobiles prior to the days upcoming ride.

9:30am: We will depart the Tal Vista Lodge for a full day of backcountry snowmobile riding. Many outstanding options exist in this area which include riding on the frozen river, off trail riding, huge frozen swamps and lakes. The area around the Tal Vista Lodge offers spectacular high country riding with close-up views of the towering Alaska Range Mountains. Depending on the exact route of the day's ride, we'll either return to the lodge for lunch or enjoy a packed lunch while out playing in the 'God's Country'.

6:00pm: Dinner is served at the Tal Vista Lodge! You will most certainly have worked up a large appetite which should be satiated with another delicious meal. After dinner, enjoy a crackling fire while stepping out in the snow occasionally to check if the northern lights are dancing with the peaks.

Day Three (Up to 100 miles with breakfast, lunch, dinner.)

8:00am: Enjoy a hot breakfast served while planning the days adventures.

9:00am: Begin a full day of snowmobile riding which will take you all the way up into the foothills of the majestic Mt. McKinley, the highest Mountain in North America. You'll say goodbye to the gracious hosts at the Tal Vista Lodge, then head up the trail to cover some amazing country. We'll follow the Skwentna and the Yentna river systems until we reach the Kahiltna River, and then we'll follow the Kahiltna River as it twists and turns further up to the high country. We'll make a nice lunch stop on the trail enroute to the Petersville area.

5:00pm: Check into the Kenny Creek lodge, located in the premier high country riding area of the Mt. McKinley and Petersville foothills. After a long day's ride, enjoy meeting your new hosts, then relaxing and dining in their well furnished, yet rustic accommodations.

Day Four (Up to 75 miles with breakfast, lunch, dinner.)

8:00am: The Kenny Creek lodge staff will serve up a hearty breakfast, to make sure everyone has plenty of energy for the day's ride.

9:00am: Enjoy the best of what Alaska has to offer. Your guides will lead you to areas where extensive off-trail riding is available and many areas offer deep, deep untracked snow and spectacular scenery beyond description.

12:00 noon: Return to the Kenny Creek lodge for a big afternoon lunch. Re-fill the machines and head on out for an afternoon of exploration. This afternoon get spectacular photo of Mt. McKinley 'The tallest mountain in North America.' The ridding can be some of the best available in the entire world.

6:00pm: Dinner is served after a nice long week of snowmobiling. Tonight relax outdoors around a fire waiting for the 'Northern Lights' to appear. While in the heart of the Alaska range, this is your best opportunity to view this spectacular phenomenon.

Day Five (Up to 50 miles with breakfast, lunch.)

8:00am: The Kenny Creek lodge staff will serve up a hearty breakfast, to make sure everyone has plenty of energy for the day's ride.

4:00pm: We'll load the machines and vans, then depart for Anchorage.

7:00pm: Arrive Anchorage, we'll drop you off at your appropriate hotel or at the airport and bid a fond farewell.
