Alaska Snow Safaris operates a variety of multi-day backcountry safaris utilizing premier Alaskan backcountry lodges, and some of the world's most scenic wilderness terrain. Check out the following sample itineraries.
Dates: We operate guided multi-day snowmobile tours in Alaska from November 15th, 2006 through May 1st, 2007.
Pricing: Call for Quote. Price will include all transfers to and from Anchorage, snowmobile rental, fuel, oil, guides, meals and overnight accommodations. Hotel accommodations in Anchorage for the inbound and outbound days, alcoholic beverages, spare belts, optional insurance, and gratuities are not included.
Hotel Rooms: We are happy to assist with arranging hotel reservations in Anchorage. During the winter months, the hotel room cost is $75 per person per night, based on double occupancy.
Group Size: Group size minimum is 4 passengers for exclusive departures. Maximum group size is 16.
Deposit & Payment: To confirm your reservation, a 50% advance deposit is required at time of booking. Remaining balance is due at least 30 days prior to tour departure. Deposits are refundable up to 30 days prior to departure.
Multi-Day Safari Suggested Packing List
In Alaska, the weather can change rapidly, so warm clothes that can be easily layered is recommended. Everything is informal in the backcountry and the main 'fashion' consists of whatever is most functional and comfortable. Please keep in mind that Alaska Snow Safaris will provide a warm pair of snowmobile boots, heavy snowmobile suit, warm gloves, and a helmet. A lightweight pair of gloves, hat, and jacket are nice to have for walking around outside the lodges when you are not geared up in the heavy snowmobile suit and helmet.
One light weight set and one medium weight set of thermal underwear.
Long sleeve shirts.
Long pants.
Comfortable sweat pants or fleece pants for lounging.
Undershirts/underwear.
Light walking shoes, tennis shoes or slippers for wearing inside the lodges.
Personal toiletry items including chap stick, sunscreen and sunglasses.
Heavy wool socks, (2 pair) Other socks, synthetic or cotton blend (min 3 pair).
Medium weight fleece, polyester or wool top.
Camera and film.
Medium weight wool or synthetic hat.
Light or medium weight jacket.
Light weight pair of gloves.
Mid-size duffel bag or mid-size pack to carry all personal gear. Bag will be strapped to the rear cargo rack of the snowmobile while on tour.
